![]() What you do get with the supplied settings menu is improved shadow quality, better textures, far superior anisotropic filtering and a boost to volumetric fog quality. Thankfully, this can be enabled via a very simple. However, there is no 'out of the box' support for temporal anti-aliasing upscaling - a brilliant feature in UE4 that offers close-to-native quality if used sensibly, while reducing GPU load considerably. However, certainly from a visual perspective, the game is a treat. The PC version offers significant upgrades over PlayStation 5, but the further you push in performance terms, the more unstable the experience becomes. On top of the improved clarity, quality mode also offers up a richer scene via improved plant density - and similar to the single performance option on PS4 Pro, 30fps is delivered with an excellent level of consistency, as you would hope. 30fps is the order of the day here, and with a DRS window that came in at 1944p-2160p in our samples, you are getting a pristine presentation. PlayStation 5 also offers a quality mode too. Please enable JavaScript to use our comparison tools. The Pro's 30fps mode is extremely solid in performance terms, while PS5 targeting 60fps is generally fine but can occasionally drop frames due to genuine GPU limits, while traversal can also exhibit minor stutter. Both versions look good on a 4K screen at standard living room viewing distances, but do not pass for a native 4K presentation. For its part, the PS5 performance mode operates in a similar resolution window with reconstruction up to 4K, but can run in some areas with a reduced resolution. Signed distance field ambient occlusion - used to great effect on PS5 - is also missing. In comparison to PS5's 60fps performance mode, vegetation density is pared back, object LODs are more noticeable and shadow resolution is also chunkier. We didn't have time to test the base PS4 game, but the Pro targets 30fps and seems to run at a dynamic resolution between 1188p and 1440p, but seems to stick to the upper end of the range for the most part. In terms of engine scalability, let's start at the bottom of the stack. The level of polish is excellent but not without its issues: transitions between animations aren't quite smooth enough, while camera motion can be prone to minor hitching. Secondary animations such as the effects of your actions within the scene are also expertly implemented. On top of that, character expressions and animations are first class: Ember Lab previously worked on animation shorts for fan films, product advertisements, and other mainstream media.įlourishes in all areas of the animation are excellent, while the expressiveness of Kena and her 'rot' companions is also a high point - it's lovingly crafted and so, so cute. Combine it all together and you rarely find an object that sticks out as being of an inconsistently low res, or modelled oddly. There's an understanding of which edges need to be rounded and which can retain a more obvious polygonal structure. Every object, every texture and material seems to have been authored with a consistent style and polygon budget. In terms of what makes Kena special, it's not just the style of the art that stands out but also the basic quality in delivery. Everything you need to know PS4 Pro, PS5 and where PC slots in. Watch on YouTube The Digital Foundry video breakdown of Kena: Bridge of Spirits. As it happens, everything plays out as logically as you would expect - but the extra horsepower in PS5 and high-end PC goes a long way in delivering Kena at its best. In theory, the PC version should allow us to see Kena running at its absolute best, while taking a look at the game operating on PS4 Pro gives us an idea of how older hardware copes with a very attractive game. In putting this piece together, we took a look at the game running in both quality and performance modes on PlayStation 5 and factored in platform scaling in both directions. However, underlying issues with UE4 do peek through - and they're especially evident on the PC version of the game. ![]() Based on Unreal Engine 4, Kena shines through the artistic accomplishments of the developer, backed by a solid game design and mostly solid performance. ![]() Kena: Bridge of Spirits from Ember Labs finally released this week, initially capturing our attention at the PlayStation 5 gameplay reveal event last year thanks to a visually fresh, appealing presentation. ![]()

From Pop-Tarts’ inception to recipes you can bake at home, here is everything you need to know about Pop-Tarts and their mouthwatering variations. Outside of the supermarket, we’re seeing recipes for plant-based toaster pastries in cookbooks and buying them by the dozen at our favorite vegan bakeries. Vegan Pop-Tarts thankfully do exist, but in limited flavors. Straight from the foil, toaster, or freezer (try it), a Pop-Tart is good no matter how you eat it. Like any child, teen, or adult, we also love a glazed, flaky crust filled with jam. Pop-Tart sales have continued to grow steadily since the 1980s, selling over 2 billion Pop-Tarts a year. "I don't have a great sense that the Pop Tarts case will succeed, however.Americans may love a health trend, but that hasn’t stifled their love for these foil-wrapped toaster pastries. "Some judges find that sellers have misrepresented their products, while others say if the consumer took the time to read the ingredients statement, they would know exactly what they were buying," Dworsky said. "Consumers seeing defendant's Product, which exclusively promotes strawberries, and the more 'restrained' or truthful labeling of competitors, will purchase defendant's Product," the lawsuit states. The plaintiff cited the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act, stating that Kellogg's "false and deceptive representations and omissions" are likely to influence consumer purchasing decisions. How they ultimately turn out is a toss of a coin." "Various lawsuits recently have claimed that there is no real tuna in Subway tuna fish, that Honey Bunches of Oats is almost devoid of honey, and that Morning Star Farms Veggie Hot Dogs have almost no vegetables. "Food product labeling cases are hot now," Dworsky said. But does Harris have a legal argument? Perhaps, said Edgar Dworsky, consumer lawyer and founder and editor of Consumer World. Kellogg's, however, does not put that language on its Pop-Tart boxes. Both of those companies, the lawsuit states, use the phrase "Naturally & Artificially Flavored" on the box to tip off customers that the product has less strawberry ingredients than consumers might expect. Harris' complaint contrasts Kellogg's Pop-Tart marketing unfavourably with other "frosted strawberry" toaster pastries from companies including Walmart's Great Value brand and Dollar Tree's Clover Value brand. Kellogg did not respond to CNN Business' request for comment.Īccording to the product's ingredients list, Pop-Tarts contain "2% or less of wheat starch, salt, dried strawberries, dried pears and dried apples" and two per cent or less of other ingredients including citric acid, gelatin, modified wheat starch, yellow corn flour, caramel colour palm oil, xanthan gum, cornstarch, turmeric extract colour, soy lecithin, red 40, yellow 6, blue 1 and added colour. The lawsuit indicates that Kellogg's "only promotes the product's strawberry content in its labeling and marketing, such as on its website." The plaintiff said she wanted more than a "strawberry taste," which she nevertheless "failed to receive, due to the relatively greater amount of pears and apples," according to the lawsuit. Harris also alleges the product's name, "Frosted Strawberry Toaster Pastries," is "false, misleading, and deceptive" because the Pop-Tart filling contains a "relatively significant amount of non-strawberry fruit ingredients" including pears and apples. But a new lawsuit claims Pop-Tarts are masquerading as a health food.Ī class action lawsuit, filed by Illinois resident Anita Harris in August, alleges the brand's marketing is "misleading because they give people the impression the fruit filling contains a greater relative and absolute amount of strawberries than it does." The lawsuit also focuses on the health benefits that come from strawberries, citing a WebMD description stating that strawberries "protect your heart, increase HDL (good) cholesterol, lower your blood pressure and guard against cancer." ![]() No one would mistake Kellogg's Pop-Tarts for a bowl of fruit - they are an indulgent treat, loaded with sugar and processed ingredients. ![]() ![]() Their panes tilt inward for easy cleaning and maintenance, and the sloped sill allows water drainage to the panes. ![]() ![]() That’s why, instead of a history of Exandria (the universe where the show takes place) or Tal’Dorei (the continent where Vox Machina has their adventures), we’re introduced to Vox Machina when they’re already a band of reluctant friends - if not slightly questionable mercenaries - playing drinking games and looking for their next job. But part of that show’s charm has always been the easy relatability of the characters, and the minds behind The Legend of Vox Machina realize that’s something that works just as well in animation as it does around a table. This kind of exchange - sarcastic, funny, blunt, but also somehow endearing - is what Critical Role has built most of its success on.
